Medical Equipment and Supplies of America Gainesville Warehouse Manager Brian Hopkins was awarded a prestigious “Packing our Parachutes” Certificate of Appreciation Award from the Veterans Administration. Brian is the first non-VA employee to receive this award which is inspired by a story told by Captain Charlie Plumb, a Navy pilot who was shot down and taken prisoner by North Vietnamese forces. Captain Plumb reflected how many years after the war, he met the man who packed his parachute which successfully deployed and saved his life. It inspired him to urge people to recognize people who do the day to day things that make you successful. Because of the extraordinary service Brian provides to veterans in the Gainesville area, he was recognized by the VA for making them successful in providing high care to the veterans they serve.
